Sulphate

This graph shows that groundwater concentrations of sulphate increase on the northern and southern peripheries of the Wairau Plain, due to less natural dilution. In absolute terms concentrations are very low compared to the Ministry of Health Drinking Water Guideline value of 250 g/m, and there in no risk to human health. The higher values in the Taylor Pass area represent landfill monitoring site results.
