Motuweka/Havelock Pathway

The one kilometre pathway connects the Mahakipawa Road with Inglis Street allowing greater accessibility and connectivity for walkers and cyclists.

was identified by the Havelock community many years ago as a key piece of infrastructure for the town and wider community.

Council worked closely with the Havelock Community Association and the Link Pathway Trust over the last few years to identify a suitable route and get relevant consents and budget in place to allow for the construction.

The pathway includes a combination of estuary boardwalks, dryland walkways, bridge over to the cemetery and connects the Linked Pathway with the Havelock Township providing safe access for walkers and cyclists, away from the main road.

Neil Street Upgrade

This project was a collaboration from a number of council teams, with the support of the Havelock Community Association. It was led by parks and open spaces, with assistance from Marlborough Roads, the Small Townships Programme and the Assets & Services Department.

The makeover included the creation of a new pocket park and retaining wall, road surfacing, landscaping, improved pedestrian access to War Memorial Park and the surrounding Domain, sealing of the Domain pavilion car park and access way to residential properties, resurfacing of the tennis and netball courts, and the installation of new skate pump track.
