The Salvage Yard at the Re-use shop accepts construction and demolition waste free of charge provided it is in good reusable condition. We are currently in the process of expanding our ability to receive large quantities of Construction and Demolition Waste. Before you load up your vehicle, please phone 03 578 9622 to organise your drop off and ensure we have space.
We accept the following:
- Lengths of timber over 600mm, interior or exterior
- Corrugated iron
- Bricks, cinder blocks, tiles, pavers
- Plaster board (GIB) over 0.5 square metres
- Windows, doors, mirrors
- Piping (PVC, steel, convert piping)
- Internal fittings (cabinets, cupboards, vanities, sinks, rails, taps, handles)
- Cement board and other cladding (proving it is not asbestos) over 0.5 square metres
- Composite panel over 0.5 square metres
- Insulation (Pink batts, wool)
- Hand tools
- Fittings such as screws, nails, nuts & bolts etc.
The Hazardous Waste Centre can accept the following construction and demolition waste (of any quality):
- Paint, both water and oil based
- Adhesives, epoxy coatings, filler, two part mixes
- Paint thinners
- Power tools
- Whiteware and e-waste
- Cement mix
- Plaster
- Grout and mortar
