Soft Plastics

In Marlborough we are lucky with the ability to recycle soft plastics via Future Post. Future Post produces an alternative to treated timber for the wine industry and also general farming.

Council has used these posts for fencing have found them very good.

At this stage you cannot include soft plastic in your kerbside collections, however we are asking that you take the plastics to one of the collections sites below:

What is a soft plastic?

The programme takes all soft plastics including:

bread bags
frozen food bags
chip bags
pasta and rice bags
confectionery and biscuit wrap
squeeze pouches
shopping bags
toilet paper packaging
sanitary hygiene packaging
courier envelopes

Basically, anything made of soft plastic which can be scrunched into a ball – but it must be clean, empty and dry.
