Provision for aquaculture was previously removed from the Proposed Marlborough Environment Plan prior to notification of the substantive portion of the plan with the intention of further reviewing the content. The Recommendations of the Marlborough Aquaculture Review Working Group' document is a result of the subsequent review.

Variation Provisions

Update: The originally notified proposed Map 14 contained an error in that it depicted two new aquaculture management areas in Onapua Bay, Tory Channel (Coastal Management Unit 31). These sites are subject to a separate variation process that is yet to be approved by the Council for notification. Consultation with respect to these potential sites is ongoing. Proposed Map 14 was replaced with an updated version on 7 December 2020 in the following schedule of changes documents.
