Paying for Your Parking
How to Pay for Your Parking at the Meter
Enter your vehicle licence plate number and press ‘OK’. ‘First Hour Free’ will apply automatically. Then choose one of the below three options:
- If you would like exactly 1 Hour of free parking, select ‘OK’. No payment is required. Go to Step 3.
- If you require less than 1 Hour free parking, select ‘Adjust time’, and use the arrows to reduce parking to your preferred time. Press ‘OK’ twice and go to Step 3.
- If you require more than 1 hour parking, select ‘Pay for more time’ and go to Step 2.
- Select a payment option - Coins or card, and follow the steps below:
- If paying with coins, enter the coins until the parking time you require is shown on the screen. Press 'OK'.
- If paying with a debit or credit card, select the left or right green arrows to increase/decrease the parking time required. Press 'OK'.
- Tap or insert card and press OK to proceed to receipt screen.
- Press YES or NO for eReceipt.
- When you see “Transaction Completed” your payment has been successful.
Obtaining a Receipt
The Pay By Plate parking system is ticket-less, so no receipt is issued. If you require a GST receipt for business or other purposes, follow the instructions on the screen which will appear after you make your payment.
Once payment has been made the meter will ask if you require an eReceipt. If you select 'YES' you will see a 4-digit code and the web address 'my-receipt.com'.
Go online to www.my-receipt.com and enter the 4-digit code and your number plate to produce an eReceipt.
Payment Options for Pay by Plate
Debit or Credit card
Visa, Mastercard, American Express Credit Cards and Visa debit are accepted at Pay By Plate parking meters (5% transaction fee will be incurred).
Contactless payments are available on all parking meters for visa PayWave or Mastercard PayPass.
Coins
Only New Zealand currency coins are accepted - Please see the side of the machine for the coins that are accepted.
Notes
New Zealand bank notes are no longer accepted by Pay By Plate meters.
Pay my Park App
Download from the App Store or Google Play. To set-up, register your name and licence plate/s, load your account remotely by credit card or internet banking. Top-up fees are set by the App owner and apply on a sliding scale depending on the type and amount. For more information: See the Pay My Park page
