About this policy
The Building Act 2004 (the Act') requires Council to adopt a policy in respect of dangerous and insanitary buildings.
The Dangerous or Insanitary Buildings Policy 2006 was adopted by Council to meet the requirements of the Building Act.
This policy updates the 2006 Policy and outlines the approach Marlborough District Council (the Council') will take to require an owner of a dangerous or unsanitary building to remedy the building so it in no longer dangerous or unsanitary. The 2015 Policy was adopted by Council on 19 February 2015.
