Apply Online - Building Consent Application

You are able to apply for building consents online.

Use the Building Consent/PIM/Amendment application to lodge PIM applications, applications for amendments for building consents and the following application types:

• Housing and residential work
• Commercial and industrial work
• Garages, carports and sheds
• Plumbing and drainage
• Solar water heaters and water cylinders
• Jetties
• Relocated buildings
• Swimming pools
• Amendment to building consent

There is a separate application available online for solid fuel heaters and log fires (residential only).

Alternatively, you can download and complete our PDF applications. Do not complete both the online form and a downloadable PDF form for the same application.

To use this service, we do require that you create a login. This is because a login gives you additional usability, such as the ability to save partially completed applications and return to them later.

Creating a login is a simple process: simply enter your email address and create a password using the log in link in the header of this page. To complete the process and enable your access to online building consent applications, you must follow the link in the confirmation email you receive.
