Blenheim CBD Parking Changes – From 1 Oct 2024

Pay By Plate parking zones and tariffs will change in central Blenheim from 1 October 2024.

Part of Council’s 2024-2034 Long Term Plan, parking tariffs in the outermost Pay By Plate car parks will decrease to incentivise commuters to use those for all day parking. Meanwhile, car parks in the inner circle will be limited to four hours to encourage faster turnover and support local retail and business activity.

All Pay By Plate metered car parks are currently grouped by ‘zone’, and each zone has a unique time limit and tariff. From 1 October, Blenheim CBD car parks will be split into the following zones;

  • Zone 1 – On-street/Kerbside car parks
  • Zone 2 – Inner CBD, off-street car parks, 4 hours max
  • Zone 3A – Inner CBD, premium off-street car parks, All-day parking
  • Zone 3B – Outer CBD, standard off-street car parks, All-day parking

First Hour Free will continue in all Pay By Plate car parks, however must be activated by entering your vehicle registration into a meter at the start of your parking session. It is also important for people to ensure they use the correct meter for the zone they are parked in to avoid an infringement, including starting a new session if they move to a different zone.
