Council provides funding for public swimming at both the Picton and Awatere Community Pools. Both pools are outdoor and are open between December and March.

The Picton pool is located at Queen Charlotte College and is accessed from the northern end of Hampden Street. The college manages the pool, although Council contributes funding for the provision of public swimming.
