The Sports Facilities Strategic Plan 2021 has been developed to provide the Council with a framework to aid in prioritising investment and support in sporting facilities. The Plan aims to understand the current and future needs and aspirations of sporting codes and what changes, updates or additions need to be made to the Council's sports facilities network.
The Plan acknowledges the importance of partnerships between the Council and other agencies. The vast majority of the sporting sector in Marlborough relies on a partnership approach with the Council to ensure grounds and facilities are available to deliver sport to the community.
The Plan will assist in outlining the needs of sporting codes with recommendations incorporating the setting of priorities to inform the 2021-2031 Long Term Plan.
