Rapid recovery back to natural vegetation has taken place over much of this former cleared and farmed peninsula. To assist this process, ongoing control continues on wilding pine, wattle, false acacia, old man's beard, banana passionfruit and numerous other invasive weed species. Possum, goat and pig control also takes place periodically to reduce vegetation damage. A Weed Pest Management Plan was prepared in 2008 and assists with prioritising control efforts.
