Public Notification and Submissions Made on the PMEP

On 19 May 2016 the Council decided to notify the Proposed Marlborough Environment Plan for public input so that it can make decisions on the future management of Marlborough's environment.

At this time, the Proposed Marlborough Environment Plan does not include the provisions relating to marine farming, which are still subject to review.

In the meantime, the existing aquaculture planning provisions of the Marlborough Sounds Resource Management Plan and Wairau/Awatere Resource Management Plan remain in place.

The Proposed Marlborough Environment Plan was publicly notified on 9 June and the opportunity to make submissions closed on 1 September 2016.
