Te Tauihu Intergenerational Strategy
The Te Tauihu Intergenerational is a long-term economic development strategy for the Top of the South, incorporating the Marlborough and Nelson-Tasman Districts.
In developing this strategy, led by Wakatū Incorporation, the Marlborough District Council's Economic Development Unit is collaborating with its counterparts in the Nelson City and Tasman District Councils, Nelson Regional Development Council (NRDA), local iwi, central government departments such as the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE), academia and the private sector.
In line with central government's focus on wellbeing outcomes, the Te Tauihu Intergenerational Strategy is focused on social, cultural, environmental and economic development across the Top of the South. It aligns closely with Treasury's Living Standards Framework, Statistics New Zealand's Indicators Aotearoa project and various other wellbeing initiatives.
