Between 20 June and 11 July, anyone with an interest in the Marlborough Sounds transport network was asked for their feedback on all the options evaluated for the five storm-damaged areas of the Sounds.
As there will be a significant impact on rates, Council also asked all Marlborough ratepayers and residents what they might be willing to pay for a resilient transport network in the Sounds.
Community feedback in the survey was analysed and incorporated into the final programme business case for a safe and resilient transport system for the Marlborough Sounds.
The programme business case considered the views of Marlborough residents and ratepayers and was finalised in October 2023.
Council reviewed and endorsed the final programme business case on 3 October 2023. Resolutions from the Assets & Services Committee were adopted at an Extraordinary Council meeting on 10 October and provided to Waka Kotahi for consideration.
