Burning in Industrial Zones
Fires in the open are unauthorised in industrial zones. You cannot burn anything in the open unless a resource consent has been obtained. This includes bonfires and fires in drums. Business and property owners should inform staff and tenants of the industrial burning rules. Note, you are liable for fires lit on your property or at your business. If your employer directs you to light an unauthorised fire, you are still liable.
