The Waitohi and Waikawa Streams have a special place in the Rohe of Te tiawa and have had a close association with Waikawa Marae in Tōtaranui/Queen Charlotte Sound, where Te tiawa people are Tangata whenua.
This is a joint report by Te tiawa Manawhenua Ki Te Tau Ihu Trust and the Marlborough District Council.
The first section outlines the history and cultural significance of the Waitohi and Waikawa Stream catchments.
The second section contains an assessment of water quality in the two catchments based on a study carried out in 2017 and 2018.
