WinePRO hailed as success
Organisers are delighted with the success of Aotearoa WinePRO, which took place at Marlborough Lines Stadium 2000 in Blenheim last week.
More than 100 trade suppliers attended while the conference, run at the same time, focussed on a wide range of innovation topics including new technologies such as robotics and artificial intelligence, the circular economy and lifelong learning.
“It was the largest trade show ever held in Blenheim,” said Economic Development Portfolio Manager Dorien Vermaas. “This Council-sponsored event was a key part of our Economic Development team’s activation programme as we celebrate the wine industry’s continued achievements and promote agritech in and for the region.”
“It’s part of Marlborough’s vision to be a leading agritech region in Australasia.”
Council’s Economic Development Officer Mark Unwin has led this work in collaboration with Wine Marlborough and Expertise Events.
“It was a true collaboration between the three parties who share a joint vision for Marlborough to be a centre of wine technology and innovation for New Zealand, and to collaborate internationally with counterparts in other wine tech regions around the world.”
Expertise Events have been running the Australian Wine Industry Technical Conference in Adelaide for many years - see: https://www.awitc.com.au
WinePRO is expected to be held every two years and Mr Unwin said he hoped it would be back in Blenheim in 2026.
