WinePRO shaping up as sellout

Momentum is building for Marlborough’s inaugural wine industry expo, WinePRO, Council’s Economic, Finance and Community committee heard recently.
Hundreds of wine industry people are expected for the event which runs from 25 to 27 June at the Marlborough Lines Stadium 2000 in Blenheim.
Economic Development Officer Mark Unwin said the event is a long-held vision for Innovate Marlborough (Council’s economic development unit) and Wine Marlborough.
“Stands are selling fast with 80 per cent already spoken for. If you’re interested in the wine sector, it promises to be an event not to be missed with a vast range of equipment, vineyard management tools and industry suppliers from around New Zealand and overseas on show,” Mr Unwin said.
Business Trust Marlborough has been helping Innovate Marlborough spread the word to the local hospitality and retail sector with a ‘town activation’ workshop to get businesses ready for the influx of people. Organisers Expertise Events also held a workshop with over 45 attendees.
