Water Shutdown - Francis Street and Redwood Street Watermains
There is a planned water shutdown on Monday 7 April 2025 between 9.00 am and 1.00 pm in the following areas:
residents and businesses served by Francis Street, and Redwood Street watermains that the water supply will be shutdown on:
Properties in the shutdown area will receive a shutdown notice.
The shutdown is to allow the contractor, Simcox Construction, to connect the new watermain in Francis Street with the existing watermain in Redwood Street, at the Francis Street Redwood Street intersection.
Residents are advised to store water prior to the shutdown for use during the period when water is not available.
If this day is not suitable due to weather or unforeseen circumstances, the work will be postponed until the following day Tuesday 8 April 2025.
When water is restored, every effort will be made to remove air from the system. Residents may find that they have to bleed air from their property pipework. Running a couple of taps slowly for 2 to 3 minutes should remove residual air.
Council apologises for any inconvenience that this may cause and advises that the supply may be resumed at any time between these hours without further notice.
