State Highway 1 Weld Pass night closures

Plan ahead for State Highway 1 Weld Pass night closures from Wednesday 29 January to Thursday 13 February from 7.00 pm - 5.00 am. There will be one opening at midnight to let queued traffic through.
There will be no work on the night of Wednesday 5 or Thursday 6 February - Waitangi Day.
During the closure contactors will strengthen the road surface on a 500m section of Weld Pass. This will include milling, or removing the old surface, before adding new layers. They will also carry out other maintenance work during the closure.
