Unplanned Water Shutdown - Awatere Water Supply - Marama Road
Update 4.00 pm
Awatere and Seddon residents urged to conserve water for the next 24 hours
A leak in the Marama Road water main in Seddon means residents need to urgently conserve water, probably until midday tomorrow.
The water main pipe has burst and is affecting water supplies in the following areas:
- Seddon
- Seaview
- Grassmere
- Blind River
- Marfells Beach
Residents in these areas should store water in containers as soon as possible.
Council engineers will drain the water system, repair the pipe, ensure all air is expelled and then restart the network. This is expected to take until midday tomorrow, Thursday 21 November, all going well.
