Kenepuru Road Closures

Kenepuru Road from the Onahau Road intersection for 1.7km will be closed to all traffic from 8.00 am to 12.00 pm and 12.30 pm to 5.00 pm Monday to Thursday. On Fridays the closure will be in place from 8.00 am to 12.00 pm and 12.30 pm to 3.30 pm, with the following exceptions;
- On Monday 27 January the road closure on Kenepuru Road at Water Tank slip, will not be in place until 12.30 pm.
- There will be no closures from 5.00 pm on Wednesday 5 February to 12.30 pm on Monday 10 February, due to Waitangi weekend

Kenepuru Road from the Onahau Road intersection for 1.7km will be closed to all traffic from 8.00 am to 12.00 pm and 12.30 pm to 5.00 pm Monday to Thursday. On Fridays the closure will be in place from 8.00 am to 12.00 pm and 12.30 pm to 3.30 pm.
Closures are planned on the following dates:
- Monday 20 January to Thursday 23 January
- Monday 27 January to Friday 31 January
- Monday 3 February to Wednesday 5 February
- Monday 10 February to Friday 14 February
Please note this does not change the access status of the road.
Kenepuru Road will remain open to residents and non-residents around the planned construction closures.

13 December 2024
On Friday 13 December, there will be no planned construction closures on Kenepuru Road.
Please plan ahead for minor delays, as work is being completed under Stop/Go traffic management.
Kenepuru Road, from the Onahau Road intersection will now be open to residents, essential and emergency service till 8.00 am Monday 16 December.
The planned construction closure on this section of Kenepuru Road will be in place Monday 16 December from 8.00 am to 12.00 pm and 12.30 pm to 5.00 pm.
From Tuesday 17 December there will be no planned construction closures on Kenepuru Road until the new year. The first construction closure is currently planned for the week starting Monday 20 January.

On Friday 6 December, there will be no planned construction closures on Kenepuru Road, as work is being undertaken off the road.
The planned closures, from the Onahau Road intersection will recommence from Monday 9 December from 12.30 pm to 5.00 pm.
From Tuesday 10 December, these closures will be in place on the following dates and times;
- Tuesday 10 to Thursday 12 December from 8.00 am to 12.00 pm and 12.30 pm to 5.00 pm
- Friday 13 December from 8.00 am to 12.00 pm and 12.30 pm to 3.30 pm.
- Monday 16 December from 8.00 am to 12.00 pm and 12.30 pm to 5.00 pm
From Tuesday 17 December there will be no planned construction closures on Kenepuru Road until the new year. The first construction closure is currently planned for the week starting Monday 20 January.

This week Kenepuru Road from the Onahau Road intersection will be closed to all vehicles at the following days/times:
- Monday 25 to Tuesday 26 November from 8.00 am to 12.00 pm and 12.30 pm to 5.00 pm
- Wednesday 27 and Thursday 28 November from 8.00 am to 5.00 pm with no opening.
- Friday 29 November from 8.00 am to 12.00 pm and 12.30 pm to 3.30 pm.
Please be aware that the full day closures on Wednesday 27 and Thursday 28 November are for the installation of a culvert that traverses the road. The road can not be opened except for emergency services.

Next week Kenepuru Road, from the Onahau Road intersection will be closed at the following days/times:
- On Monday 18 November from 12.30 pm to 5.00 pm
- From Tuesday 19 to Thursday 21 November from 8.00 am to 12.00 pm and 12.30 pm to 5.00 pm.
- On Friday 22 November from 8.00 am to 12.00 pm and 12.30 pm to 3.30 pm.

Kenepuru Road, from the Onahau Road intersection will now be open to residents, essential and emergency service till 12.30pm Tuesday 29 October.
The planned construction closure on this section of Kenepuru Road will resume on Tuesday 29 October from 12.30pm. The closures will then resume as scheduled.
The scheduled closures will be in place from 8.00am to 12.00pm and 12.30pm to 5.00pm Monday to Thursday. On Friday the closures will be in place from 8.00am to 12.00pm and 12.30pm to 3.30pm.

On Wednesday 16 October the closure on Kenepuru Road from the Onahau Road intersection will be in place from 10.30 am to 12.00 pm and 12.30 pm to 5.00 pm.
On Thursday 17 and Friday 18 October there will be no road closure, Kenepuru Road will be open to residents, essential and emergency services with the closures planned to resume from 12.30 pm on Monday 21 October.
Outside of these times the closure will be in place from 8.00 am to 12.00 pm and 12.30 pm to 5.00 pm Monday to Thursday. On Friday the closure will be in place from 8.00 am to 12.00 pm and 12.30 pm to 3.30 pm.

From 23 September, Kenepuru Road from the Onahau Road intersection will be closed from 8.00 am to 12.00 pm and 12.30 pm to 5.00 pm Monday to Thursday. On Fridays the closures will be in place from 8.00 am to 12.00 pm and 12.30 pm to 3.30 pm.
This section of Kenepuru Road, between Onahau Road and the Heads remains restricted to residents, essential and emergency services. For resident access, the location of the closure will be between property 2067 Kenepuru Road, for 300m towards Portage.
The closures are in place for the construction of a 98m retaining wall at the Water Tank slip site, along with drainage upgrades and road reinstatement. The road closure timings will be reviewed after the first stage of works are completed. Works will be undertaken outside of these days and times under stop/go traffic management with up to 15 minute delays.
