Complaints on Health Nuisances
A nuisance shall be deemed to be created when a situation is offensive or likely to be injurious to health. Individuals and businesses must avoid creating nuisance for the health and well-being of the whole community.
Nuisances outlined in the Health Act 1956 include (but are not limited to) the following:
- Noise
- Insanitary/Overcrowding housing
- Indoor smoke
- Litter
- Pests/Vermin
- Methamphetamine
If you notice what you think may be a nuisance, or is causing a nuisance to you, report it by calling 03 520 7400. If possible, it can assist us if you can provide photographic evidence of the potential nuisance.
